The New England Patriots will start their 2019 season at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football on Sept. 8.

The information was reported by Evan Lazar of both CLNS and later Jeff Howe and Nick Underhill of The Athletic.
It was formerly reported the Patriots would kick off their Super Bowl title defense on Sunday night, though the competition was unknown. New England will also host Kansas City, Cleveland, Dallas, Buffalo, Miami and the New York Giants and Jets next year. The Packers and Bears will open the 2019 year on Thursday Night Football in Chicago around Sept. 5.
